About Le Marie Marché
Since 2016 Le Marie Marché has brought the warmth, fragrance and atmosphere of a French weekly market to The Hague. Founder Marie-France curates each edition with care: brocante, delicacies, fashion, craft and curated finds, with French chansons beneath the trees at the Hofvijver.
Marie-France was born in France and lived in Amsterdam for many years. When she moved to The Hague she missed one thing: the markets. Amsterdam had so much to offer, and The Hague felt thin by comparison. Out of that absence she started Le Marie Marché in 2016: a handful of stalls beside the Hofvijver, filled with entrepreneurs she had personally called.
Today some seventy stalls stand along the Lange Vijverberg every first weekend of the month, from March through December. And these days the entrepreneurs are the ones calling her.
What began as one place became a tour. The Hague's shopping streets started asking whether Marie-France could bring the French feeling to their neighbourhood too, and so the Tour de France was born: editions through the Hofkwartier, the Zeeheldenkwartier and the Frederik Hendriklaan, with visits to Wassenaar, Leiden and Rotterdam.
Under the lime trees French chansons play, stalls breathe out fresh crêpes, cheese and charcuterie, and brocante, fashion and art find new owners. Not every vendor has French roots, but everyone knows the feeling of a French market. That is what we put together here.

Our home
The Lange Vijverberg in The Hague is our anchor. Beneath the lime trees, with a view onto the Hofvijver and the Mauritshuis, some seventy stalls set up every first weekend of the month. The season runs from March through December, with an Easter excursion to Noordeinde and the festive Prinsjesmarkt in September.
